South Dennis

Harold I. Dayton, 81, died on July 20, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Frances M. (Henning) Dayton.

Born in Framingham, MA., he came to Cape Cod at the age of 17. As a young man he worked in his father’s jewelry store, Yankee Crafter’s. He was the director of maintenance at Cape Cod Hospital for over 20 years and was an accomplished woodworking craftsman.

In addition to his wife he leaves three step children, Sheri House and her husband Neal, Rose Young and her husband Todd and Andrew Shoafstall. He is also survived by a brother, David Dayton and his wife Sally.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 24, beginning at noon and concluding with a service at 1pm at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Dr., South Yarmouth. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis.
