Carol A. Gouveia (Ballerini), 72, of Yarmouthport, MA passed away peacefully on July 31st at the McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich with family lovingly by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Augustine F. Gouveia for 35 wonderful years.

Carol was born and raised in Dorchester, MA and was the daughter of Victor and Gladys Ballerini (Kast). She also resided in East Bridgewater, MA until she and Augie moved to Cape Cod in 1978.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dana Insley and her husband, Lee as well as her cherished grandsons, Ryan and Drew, of Doylestown, PA, her brother, Gary Ballerini of Dedham, MA, her cousin Dorothy Daley of Dorchester, MA, her dedicated brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Mary Gouveia of South Yarmouth, her kind and loving niece, Lisa Cahill and her husband Shaun of Sandwich, MA, as well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many long time treasured friends.

Carol loved life and experienced it with energy, enthusiasm, a quick wit and an optimistic spirit. She loved to talk, have a good laugh, and spend time with close family and friends. Carol was always selfless and generous in her thoughts, words, and actions and was a woman of strong, unyielding faith. She was admired and adored by all who had the pleasure and honor of knowing her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4th at 10am at Saint Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 7 PM at the Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Yarmouth Port.
