U.S. Veteran

Bronske – Richard W., of Bass River and Needham, died on Saturday, August 11, 2012 after a long battle with prostate cancer. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Downing) Bronski, he is survived by Mary D. Bronski of Needham; Kevin M. Bronski and wife Annmarie of Randolph; Margaret (Meg) Massaro and husband Anthony of Harwich; and John Bronski and wife Mary Ellen of Needham; Brother of Florence Carr, Al Bronske, William "Bill" Bronski, and the late Isabel Kennedy, the late Emily Shannon, and the late Robert Bronski. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Daniel, Mark, Christopher, Nicholas, Kelsey and Christine.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thurs., August 16 at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church, So. Yarmouth. Visiting hours will be held on Wed. August 15 from 4 to 8 pm at Morris, O’Connor and Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Dr, So. Yarmouth. Burial will be at Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth. Born and educated in Dorchester, MA, Richard (Dick) proudly served in the armed forces as a Marine. He was a graduate of Boston University and worked for New England Tel. & Tel. for over 35 years. As a resident of Bass River for 48 years and a political and news addict, Dick was a proud member of the Democratic town committee for many of his retirement years, until illness restricted his activities. Dick was also an avid reader and NE sports enthusiast who took up skiing in his late forties. He was, moreover, an Irish tenor with an unrivaled rendition of Danny Boy, a dry wit, and a great storyteller who loved traveling and then returning to his well-loved Cape Cod. He loved his family, his country and his God, and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
