Robert A. Luce "Captain Bob", 72, passed away peacefully in his home on December 22, 2012. Survived by his devoted wife Barbara of 52 years and his children Donna and her husband Gary Parsons of Tewksbury, James Luce of Burlington, Vermont, Thomas Luce and his wife Janet of West Barnstable and Susan Luce of Amesbury. He leaves his six beloved grandchildren whom he adored, Amanda, Zachary, Jimmy, Samantha, Nick, and John as well as two sisters Sharon and her husband Frank Blundo and Joanne and her husband Phil Bryant. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many sincere friends.
Originally from Dorchester, he made Cape Cod his home for the last 43 years. Able to make a profession of his love for the sea, he started commercial fishing upon arriving at the Cape and eventually fell into his true passion of charter fishing. Among many of his creative talents, he developed his own unique style of fly tying. He was an avid sports fan, particularly ice hockey, and he enjoyed hunting, especially with his black lab, Jesse. Always meaning what he said and saying what he meant, Bob was a down to earth guy who leaves a lasting impression.
